Questions
Frequently asked questions
Is Peaceful Presence Care a medical service?
No. We provide non-medical end-of-life companionship only. Our companions are not medical professionals and do not give medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Families arrange any medical, hospice, or palliative care separately.
What does a companion do during a visit?
Your companion sits with your loved one and offers calm presence, conversation, and emotional comfort. They can read aloud, play music, or keep quiet company, as your family prefers, and share updates with you as agreed.
Can a companion stay overnight?
Yes. With an Overnight Vigil, a companion stays present through the night so your loved one is not alone and your family can rest.
Do you work with hospice or palliative care?
Yes. Many families already have hospice or palliative care in place. Our companions offer presence and comfort, and the medical team continues to handle all medical care.
Where do you provide services?
Carson Valley (including Minden and Gardnerville), Reno, Lake Tahoe, and the surrounding areas of Northern Nevada. We visit at home or in a care facility.

Schedule changes need 24 hours’ advance notice. Either party may end services with 48 hours’ written notice.
Will you keep our family’s information private?
